Hey, I’m Craig. I was born in the summer of ’84 during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. My Dad says he was in the middle of watching a boxing match when I came into the world.

In a sentence I would say I want to make something of my life through meaning. My favorite movies are ones like “Big Fish”, “Forrest Gump”, and “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button” because they all tell the tale of one man’s extraordinary life… a life truly lived and experienced to the fullest.

I dream very vividly almost every single night and remember most of them. The vast majority of my dreams are about adventure and danger… those two words TRULY define me. I have a lot of dreams where I’m putting myself in harms way to save others. My adventures have and continue to take me all around the world. In 2006 I was rock climbing in an extremely remote part of Colorado with my cousin and close friend Kenny when I shattered my leg in an unlucky accident. Aided only by our brotherhood and determination, I crawled for 18 hours on my hands and knees to safety. In 2012 the Travel Channel made an episode of the show “Got Home Alive” about the event. Kenny and I played ourselves in the reenactment… our first ever acting jobs.

Music has been around me my whole life. My mother Carol taught me to play piano, my brother Ryan taught me to play drums and guitar. I picked up the saxophone on my own at age 10 after seeing a girl I liked checking out a guy playing sax at a concert. My father Ron, although having no musical talent, is my best friend in the world. I feel so lucky to get to say that. An athlete, great father & family man, true friend, healer, listener, and so much more, he is the greatest role model I could have ever asked for.

I’ve been blessed with some great musical opportunities. The best selling instrumentalist of all time, Kenny G, and I have played side by side at the Miami Jazz Festival, Adrinne Arsht Center, and the famous Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. Since 2009 I’ve been so lucky to play shows all around the world to wonderful people. I love to give, and to give the gift of music to others gives me so much joy.

My life has been truly defined by variety. I attended 5 universities in 4 years, have lived in 10 different locations in the last 10 years, and have now traveled to around 95 different countries in the world. I really believe that life is too short not to make the absolute most of it.

Right now I’m competing in Season 8 of American Ninja Warrior on NBC. Tune and and cheer me on! 🙂

Thank you so much for your love and support. As long as you continue to enjoy what I do, I promise I’ll keep the good stuff coming your way!

Much Love,
Craig Richard
